It was love
At first sight...
Again.
When did I become
A crazy cat lady?
For years I had
Kept my distance,
Not really hating cats,
Just preferring
Slobbery doggie kisses
To cool feline disdain;
But, then, four years ago
A plucky little kitten
Bulldozed her way
Into my heart
And became as dear to me
As my beloved dogs.
They became my "family" of three:
Copper, Sunny, and my stinker kitty,
Maybelle
I thought I was content,
That my heart was safe
From another attack
Of terminal cuteness...
But then there they were,
Four Siamese marked
Balls of fluff
And suddenly I knew
There would be one more,
And then I'm slamming the door shut
In self-preservation!
