A Summary of a Lifetime of Love and Companionship

Every Passing Year My world began with no regret The past behind when first we met Your precious image pure and soft My heart aflutter and aloft From Indian village to coastal town Our love has grown in quiet renown Time has passed as all do know Events have happened in the flow O, tell me true this one more time In words of prose and gentle rhyme How sweet our love, how dear to heart The sacred knowing we’d never part But now I’m torn and filled with pain That we must part In soulful rain Never on Earth again to dwell To share the chiming chapel bell As stars come out us all around Keep your promise and your sound Hold me close, your body near Close your eyes, whisper in my ear I love you more every passing year Richard Lee Orey Copyright 2013

"Every Passing Year" is beautiful, Richard. The first part is warm, loving and happy; while the last part is sad and melancholy. Overall, it is an emotional piece that shows depth of feeling about a loved one. Keep writing those poems, Richard. They say a lot and have deep meaning.
