IAN IRVINE'S SONGWRITING/LYRICS WORK  WITH IAN IRVINE SOLO (formerly G.C. Original):

Ian Irvine cowrote over 30 songs as a member of G.C. Original and much of that writing involved preparing lyrics for performance and professional production/recording. He was also the lead vocalist during his time with G.C. Original.

Many of the same UK and US based musicians who assisted with the professional production of the 7 'Interstitium' albums released between 2018 and 2023, also worked on the three Ian Irvine Solo albums (here presented as a single 30 song 'Best of Ian Irvine Solo feat. G. C. Original and INTERSTITIUM' album). 

Please note: in some of these songs, Ian and Liam Thorpe shared the lyrics writing.

Author/Lyricist Bio for Ian Irvine (Hobson)

Dr Ian Irvine is poet/lyricist, fiction & nonfiction writer and writing teacher. He has been published in journals as diverse as Humanitas (USA), The Antigonish Review (Canada), Tears in the Fence (UK), Linq (Australia) and Poetry New Zealand, as well as in Best Australian Poems and Agenda: ‘Australian Edition’. He is the author of four books (with others close to completion), and he has taught in the Professional Writing and Editing program at Bendigo TAFE since 1999. From 2012-18 he taught in the same program at Victoria University, and also, during the 1990s, taught in the Humanities and Social Science programs at La Trobe University. He holds a PhD for his work on descriptions of 'chronic ennui' down the ages. Since 2018, 102 of his alt. rock songs (and co-written songs) have been professionally produced by the band 'INTERSTITIUM'—many specifically Interstitium tracks have since featured and charted at dozens of radio stations globally. In the early 1990s he co-founded G. C. (Original) lineup with James Mannix. He co-wrote over 30 songs with that band (now renamed as a memorial project under the title "Ian Irvine Solo") and was lead singer of the band until late 1993.
