Remembering
By La Belle Rouge
his masculine beauty dazzled my eyes
and systematically seduced my thoughts
until he was the only sun in my sky
his tenderness unrivaled, his passion unequaled
a cold drink of clear water on a desolate horizon
i wanted to sip him slowly, swallow him whole
feel the power of his warmth deep inside my soul
i went away... too proud to tell him
too numb to cry, he never knew why
he watched me go and his heart grieved
for things that were and might have been
as days became years and memories dimmed
no second chances, i hurt him, because i hurt
i was numb and dumb with untold pain
i couldn’t tell him the whys and oddly
he never asked me for reasons
did he think i was cruel and unfeeling?
if only he had known i felt too much
far too much, too deeply,
to know he might never understand
so i left him with a gray, winter chill
and silent questionings
and i never looked back except in dreams
i still wonder if he remembers me, with love
remembers me and echoes of our passion
does he still hope for my return?
I don't see how any man could ever forget someone as beautiful and caring as you, Belle ... I am sure he remembers and will never forget ... beautifully penned ... hugs - T
The music of memory, survival, and the poetry of faraway home...Remembering is a courtyard of reminiscence...questioning deep emotion...emphasizing fervor what-ifs...tinged with a bit of sorrow, La Belle...
such a deliciously textured gift this memory of yours; cherish the lingering reality of its magical spell upon your being. my guess is that the gentlemen in question would most definately remember as well. beautifully penned. always a pleasure to read your creations, la belle.

If one remembers, so does another :-)

Well, OF COURSE he remembers! How could he forget when you remember every nuance of emotion? Extremely well written, La belle. Lydi**
a very moving self-reflective query into the potential of memories rekindling their origin and a most persuasive analysis of the reasoning behind it all ...
