Keepin The Piece At The Black Rose Saloon
By La Belle Rouge
Howdy Gents and welcome to The Black Rose Saloon
We’ll pour you a drink, play you a piany tune
Take you upstairs and wash your face
This here saloon is a respectable place
We got charmin cheaters, and double dealin dawgs
Hell, last week Mr. Green Jeans brought his hogs
Now don’t you be so quick to think that’s funny
them carnsarnet hogs won a troth a money!
I’m the proud owner of this Gentleman’s retreat
Sometimes your ladies spit at me on the street
but I don’t care cause I enjoy my low life
and if they get too unfriendly I got a knife
Got everythin under one roof to give ya’ll a thrill
If bad wiskey don’t kill you the bad women will
Now let’s keep this game genteel without no guns
Course Ole Fee Masterson just had him some fun
I don’t give a damn who for drinks is payin
guess if Black Ed’s a payin, Black Ed's a stayin
Prop that Cowboy up real good against the piany
Put a drink in one hand and his othern on Annie
Now you stand there Annie and act like it’s fun
even if Old Black Ed is quiet cause he’s dead and done
Cause Black Ed is a generous man, yes siree
Instead of one round of drinks let’s make it three
and later tonight we’ll stuff Black Ed in Annie’s bed
Course he won’t have to pay cause his shooter is dead
I heard Ole Long Georg is ridin into town
Thinkin he’s bout to take Mr. Masterson down
I guess everybody knows how he got his name
and once a Lady has seen it, she aint never the same
Let me make this clear to all you side winders
I know the sheriff in these parts don’t wear no blinders
Just cause my hair is flame and my skirt is short
Don’t mean you can shoot up my saloon and not go to court
So play a fair hand and keep your game semi-clean
I got the sheriff’s “Peacekeeper” I can shoot clean and mean
That goes for you too, Bad Boy Mr. Fee
Or you can turn over your gun and top hat to me
Now ya all want some target practice? Just in case... Join me at the cowboy shooting range. Let's see if you can hit a moving target!
I truly enjoy this bit of old time fun.
Now this is awesome
Takes me back to miss kitty saloon a real western day saloon!
I bet the man wish this place would exist
I feel sorry for bed boy Mr Fee his not that bed!!
Excellent imagery and vividness
A brilliant write!!
Peace Love and hugssss...Morning Star

I'm sure washin of the face is all that gets washed..
Co0l western tale with some of ad's best as cowgirls/boys 0oops.
Hugs for a fine story tellin gal.
My I do say this saloon sounds like like just the place our men need to be, that is if ya need more women to help keep these men in their right place. Thank you for sharing.
Here we go again...not since the OK Corral hullabaloo has anybody come with that refines challenge, but, some piece of cow dung gunning down me brother Ol'Black Ed (his spirit will write til ya!) I am on my way to teach some lesson to chaparral users and no panties ladies, the drinks will be on them as I will be breaking the legs of a few beds...ya wait...me coming!!!!!!!!!!
My my This is chock full of some fine people but...given a different time and scenario, I wonder if these kind folks would adhere to the way they are today. Great fun Belle and you know how to sling that stuff with the best of them.
Love,
Susan
Daw-gawn it, Missy Belle... Here we goes agin! :)) I STILL ain't cracked the high-heels and sharoot-chewin, and I is ducking down behind da Bar out da way of those uncomfy guns sticking up everywhere... And jus how da ye keep wearing them garters??? They is so bloody painful and bad for the varicose veins... I prefer em to make a top-knot in me hair... You n Annie put them dawgs to bed... I'll go through their pockets and take what's owin...
Well no problem here You can keep me gun, I have a two shot derringer that's just as fun, but as I wear the badge of tin,
me and you will get together later and have some sin.
Hugs
Fee

O, boy, this is a hoot an' a holler, Belle! I love it!! I'll come, but only as long as you give me Coke Cola. No alcohol for me; am a tee-totaller! :) Stone cold sober; I have enough trouble walking SOBER; what makes you think I can do it while DRUNK?? LOL Great write; brava!
The music only adds to the ambiance of the poem. EXCELLENT!

This was no mere illusion. Colin Chase Rand, pulled through a magical portal, landed in 1935 where the dust bowl and the Great Depression was destroying lives, and a serial killer was in their midst

Black Rose Saloon is as raw as they come
The gamblin's crooked and the whores are mum
Twenty-four-seven they play at it hard
Stoppin' only when some fool palms a card
guess if Black Ed’s a payin, Black Ed's a stayin
