Poem Artwork

Words drizzling from a cloudy sky
Into my concsciousness they drain
If I could only pin them down
So they cannot escape like rain

There they are, they're so close, so close
They're just beyond my arm's reach
What can I do to bridge the gap
From mere words to poetry's speech

Words mean nothing if they're unsaid
So I grab them out of the air
I give each one a chance to live
So they don't wander off elsewhere

Words mean nothing if they're unsaid... Great line. Unfortunately, many spoken words are also meaningless. Enjoyed.

Great poem, Karla. Words come and go. I sometimes see them around when I don't need them. When I need them, they are just gone -- maybe they stay with somebody else. And sometimes, as you told, they are just beyond the arm's reach, no way to reach them without a bridge. My imagination is the best bridge I have to reach words.
Thanks
