"FIELD OF HONOR" (A Tribute to all of the Fine Poets at Author's Den) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They meet on the field of honor, Wielding a pen in their hands, Who will be the champion, The best poet in the land? ~~ Words are volleyed back and forth, And the sky is full of ink, The battle goes on and on, As the western sky turns pink, ~~ Who will be the best with words? And who will the victor be? Who will be left standing tall, Reciting their poetry? ~~ Battle's over, it is done, The winners have been declared, The winners are those who write, And the words that they have shared. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (C) Copy written, 20 September, 2004, by Karla Dorman.
