I discovered stars in the attic of my brain
I wondered how long they were there
It seemed like they had been there a very long time
Just dreaming to be found and shared

I cleaned off the accumulated years of dirt
They'd rarely seen the light of day
They'd been pocketed in hidden convolutions
And the key had been thrown away
~
Abandoned, forgotten, these tiny stars of gold
Buried by memories of pain
I took them out and surrounded myself with love
And let healing tears fall like rain
