"HOW TO WRITE THE NEXT GREAT POEM" ~~~~~~~~~~ I wanted to write the next great poem, A classic to last for all time, So I picked up a brand new golden pen, Some magic ink, a book of rhyme, And then waited for something to happen. ~ I waited. I did. Lightning didn't strike. The Northern Lights hid. My Muse took a hike. ~ I wanted to write the next great poem, A classic to last for all time, So I picked up a brand new silver pen, Some magic ink, a book of rhyme, And then waited for something to happen. ~ I waited some more. Looked around the room. No words on the floor. And no sudden BOOM. ~ I wanted to write the next great poem, A classic to last for all time, So I picked up a forgotten old pen, Some drying ink, a book of rhyme, And that's when the something happened. ~ I'm writing, and how! Good or bad, who cares? You're reading me now. I'll be heard--so there!! ~ And one day you'll be reading my next great poem. :-) ~ MORAL: You do not need gold or silver to pen your words. Just your creativity to make yourself heard. :-) ~~~~~~~~~~ (C) Copy written, November 13, 2004, by Karla Dorman.
You got it, sistah! But next time eat a few Hersey's kisses. Sometimes that helps or if you're on a diet and the kisses make you feel guilty, green tea's good. ;-) Ancient secret work for you. Yes?
I like your poem, ma'm.
You have achieved it Karla, this is a great poem now you have to write another great one!;-) See what being great means, more is expected and demanded of you!;-)
This poem made me smile to read because I identified so much. What really struck me though was that a few days ago I started writing a poem called 'The greatest poem ever written'. I tore the page to bits in frustration. Please don't for one moment think that I actually believe that I could write this poem. I was exploring what it could be. I think each poet has the desire to express something deep and finding words to fit the emotion. You do that so well. Brava! Looking forward to your next great poem...

Okay and you know what I kind of think about these same lines. Sometimes my brain wanders or is it my pen wanders. Anyway glad you are still at it Karen.
In "A Touch of Your Presence" are words that would inspire, encourage and strengthen one's soul when faced with challenges and difficulties and to know the awesomeness of God's power.
