Thankfully, I don't suffer from claustrophobia, and I've had numerous MRIs. But my spouse does have it, and she can relate very well to this painful write. I cannot for the life of me get her to go with me into any dark narrow cave openings either.

Well, I guess I am the strange one...banging and all, I just went to sleep. Since I had heard that many people got claustrophobia do to the confines of the machines, I decided to close my eyes before I went in and vowed not to open them...I am worthless once I panic. By some strange miracle, I went to sleep. Perhaps it was that Valium they gave me an hour before I had to go into the tube? *smile*

Karla even non claustrophobics hate MRI's as do I;-) So I can't imagine how someone with your fears would take it. I know they give valium,in some instances, but not enough to kill the fear;-)

I got that way with the fifth MRI that I had and I guess it was because something was really wrong in that the tumor next to my spine made me leery. But I got through it with the help of my friend that I knew very well doing the MRI.
