"POEMS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ found under moldy banana peels & smelly coffee grounds in the dumpster of hopes & dreams: a series of tear stained lines tracing a dying heart's last beats: words that at one time held great promise as they stirred in the womb but they were prematurely born: tears grief & overwhelming pain as the Poet buries her young-- the poems that might have been.

Karla, Over the last few years I've watched while you've written and grown so tremendously. It's been a great and enjoyable trip. I hope you continue down the path, into greatness. Not only do you have the talent but you have the guts to reach way down deep and yank those words from the depths.
This was my favorite of all your writes. It breathed and it touched where most never would.

tinka says "excellent stuff", but I think this is beyonf excellent, this is GREEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I mean that sis, this is very deep, and very sad too, because I have found poems, that I will not take credit for, because they were written by someone else. Let not the poet die an untimely death. If I can ever find these poems again, I will share them. But they will not by under my name, except as the person who posted them. Excellent. I can so relate to this. It is amazing how many snippets I have lying around waiting for a series of lines. Actually, the poem I wrote tonight was one of those. LOL...we must be having a mind meld. ~ Sara

yes Karla is soaring again!;-) Or should I stay still afloate and hasn't come down since that ocean cruise;-) Brava! I too keep my old unfinished in separate folder and wind up with some goodies. However, I think you do too and this is just creating a great poem!
Karla, this is great! But don't throw your premature babes in the trash, as with a little TLC they can be reborn! I still have my "chicken scratches" from decades ago and I have mined some gems from some of the verses...
Funny how sometimes our inspirations just don't pan out and we have to scrap the mission. I have a folder that I keep in my documents with good lines from failed poems. When I am looking for inspiration I can go there, find a line that I like and with new energy and a new attitude, I can usually write something that I am happy with. Keeping the folder of lines helps keep me from mourning that bit of brilliance in an otherwise mediocre if not down right lousy piece of poetry. Nice job with this one, Karla.
