We finally, finally had rain last night...not enough, but any is welcome. :) And so is the much needed break from all of the heat we've been having...yesterday's high: 105 degrees. YIPE. Today's, in the upper 70s. :) MUCH better.

These words came to me while watching the lightning dancing overhead. Enjoy!

Poem Artwork

The sun, a serpent,
scorches the atmosphere with
licking tongue of flame,

further testing the
patience of the People who
seek relief in rain

that never arrives.
They search for feathers in the
azure skies and hope

to see flashes of
light on the horizon, which
signals the coming

of the Thunderbird,
who will save the People from
certain disaster.

Well, this sure is go, go, go!! Guess you will run outside and dance naked when it comes, huh?! Actually, why not give it a try NOW... could prove to tempt the rain to show up anyway! I'm sure everyone would be grateful, Karla! :)) I like the mystical, mythical, ethnic flavour to this. Almost an "It is written"-write. Am I making any sense tonight?! :)) LOL Kate xx

A very good work covering a difficult situation. May your Thunder and Lighting Bird push clouds together and break the Rain Egg all over your land. Stay calm and wet often. - Bill
