Poem Artwork

Kittens get inside you:
their purrs wrap around your heart
and softly settle in your lap.
Any troubles you might have had
disappear in the soothing sound:
no hate, no discrimination
because of the color of your skin,
no ugliness from those who
think they're better than you,
no wars ... free at last, free
at last, thank God Almighty, I have
peace at last ... as you are reminded
there is goodness left to be had:
it's sitting there, purring, under
your gentle touch of your hand.

I love kitties too,
Though daddy lets me chase so few,
I love the way they taste on the tongue,
I love the way they purr in my tum-tum...LOL! Rufuz
