The Muse woke me up with this weirdness ... now maybe she'll let me get back to sleep!!!!

Poem Artwork

Melancholy clouds press down
on the head until it does
the tablecloth trick with the

skeleton, leaving the skin
behind to fend for itself
against the wind.  With no bones

to support it, flesh makes a
terrible flag.  All it does
is flap uselessly on the

breeze and blends into greyness,
matching the coldness within
my soul this November day.

There are times when I hear my mother's voice saying, " This is cold down to my bones!" That is when it's so cold the bones have no way of heat. I hope you are warmer today!

Dreary is the word that comes to mind. Give me sun, even if it's cold. I don't like dark gray skies during the day.

The "Melancholy clouds" of your poem paint a dismal picture. That is the way I feel when the skies are dark and overcast. Very descriptive with strong images.

Karla,

I don't believe it's only you. There's just something drab about November 1st. It is All Souls Day. Bless You Always, Paul.

November color is gray, but not in Alice Spring (Australia) where you will be going around begging for water, and sweating like a pig.
Heve you see a sweating pig? I don't.
