May not be in this weekend, due to Hurricane Ike. Hurricane wind watches/warnings as close as three counties SOUTH. (Tropical storm wind warnings here, where I am.)
Not worried about storm surge (too far inland) but may have up to eight inches of rain, high winds and the possibility of isolated tornadoes. ICK.
Keep Karen and I in your prayers: we are not happy kitties!!!
Well, in my hit and run appearances here at AD, I am talking to that Big Chief in the sky that make thing easy for my sisters, hope I have been such a bad boy that He doesn't listen to me.

But absolutely true. How often have well started off with an idea and a first line, and then a second line, and then it began to flow and take on a life of its own - producing itself into something totally different from our original idea? "Protection," written way earlier this morning was like that. My original idea was to portray the threatening panhandlers as akin to those who ran the early protection rackets (thus the title). Before I knew it, my bums had morphed into vampires. Where did that come from? Poems grow like Topsy, as they please, sometimes surprising the writer ...
