... my words die in the womb, ....

I AM OKAY. This just came to me, and so, I write.

Poem Artwork

when pen is put to
paper, poems are
supposed to be born.
supposed to be.  my
words die in the womb,
before they can take

their first breath, open
their eyes to be read.
i mourn their passing.
what they could have been
will never be known,
because no one had

any thought that i
was pregnant.  they'll
only find out when
they read my name in
the obits, as the
surviving poet ...

a beauty is your photo -- and we certainly knew that this poem did not apply to you -- there is great compassion in the ink that scribed these lines -- talk the talk of love, peace and joy -- walk the walk of peace, love and joy -- JMW

Here's that unique perspective I mentioned in my earlier review. Most folks wouldn't think of words this way. I like how creative you are, building on the phrase 'pregnant with thought'. Love and Hugs,

But... as with a child...they are born...still...
Your words often have power to still my heart and mind and bring me a new perspective on life.

I know we're of different persuasions about where poems come from--but sometimes they slip away like dreams that you can't quite spit into words. As you've posted 2,700+ here-- ;) Another beauty...

No matter how one reads this poem of yours, there shouldn't be any doubt that your words weren't "still born", ever.

Well said Karla. But think about this; most times it's really false labor and then later on, the birth of something wonderful happens.
;-) Well done my friend.

This is so sad! Powerfully penned heartbreak, and your words convey a writer at the deepest realm of despair. Very well written/imaged; brava!

Oh Karla,
WHAT"S UP WITH THAT?
You have words..and your many writings tell them. Your voice sounds from the paper as you write and give us the magnificent photos of the sky!
This poem of sad grieving for the words is well written!
So There!
