Poem Artwork

... and when the sadness overtakes
me, I remember how you petaled
your arms around me, clothing me
in the finest silk, negating the thorns
life had dealt:  in a sea of forgotten
flowers, you made me beautiful ....

Karla, this is absolutely lovely ... so very soft and pleasing to read. I loved "petaled your arms around me" ... oh what a romantic and gentle image that brings to mind. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and the picture is lovely, as well. Hugs, Elizabeth :)

we all know you as a beautiful rose too, Karla -- the gentle lines of your poem cast loving arms about the reader -- superbly wtitten --my very first poem was about the magic of roses, "Essence", "the scent of roses is pervasive and sweet upon the nostrils", are the first two lines -- much, love, peace and great joy to you my dear friend -- Jon Michael
