I've really been trying not to post so frequently, but this would not leave me alone. And so, I write ...

Poem Artwork

i am right.  here
but you don't see.
you pass as if
i don't exist.
what makes it worse is that you'll go out of your way

to avoid me.

you know i know.
you still do it ...
it's as if i
have become one

of the invisible people.  color.less.  and then say that

i'm disabled. ...

"but by the grace of God go I",has never been shared with them apparently Karla -- either that or they are too uninformed to know the truth of the matter -- peace and love my dear friend -- Jon Michael

...those small minded people are the ones with disabilities, you are one of the special ones with a talent to write and share with all, just stay strong.

They don't stop to smell the roses either. Be glad God didn't bring them into your life. However, I can certainly relate to feelings of rejection. Not pleasant. hugs, J'nia

you some come to NYC ... people wouldn't treat you invisible here, quite the opposite ... must be something in the Texan air ;)

You're beautiful Karla. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Especially your own head. I know what that's like. We share the same "disease of perception" remember? It was suggested to me once that my thinking is like an obscene phone call. When it rings, simply hang up!!

Karla~

I know how it is. People treat me like I'm stupid because I walk on two (forearm) crutches, or they think that I wouldn't contribute much to society or think I won't amount to anything. I have heard it all my life, and I am SICK of it! Let THEM live as I (you) do; let THEM live with the pain or the inconveniences that our disabilities (health problems) present us with every day. Then they'd learn that it isn't a game and that our problems are very real. Powerful truths here; very well written!! Keep on speaking out and reaching for the stars; you are way better than those narrow-minded people, and so am I!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :(

Karla, did it ever occur to you that those are the people that don't deserve your attention? People that do that are shallow and not worthy of the time of day. I know you are so much better than that. By the way the woman with the unborn child that was killed was the niece of a friend of ours that Robert also works with.

Be always safe,
Karen

Those that pass by you would not stop to smell a beautiful fl;ower if a bee bit them in the arse. Don't bother giveing people like that a second thought. They are the ones that lose....never you.
Be proud of who you are and what all you've done for mankind. I'll bet those people passing you by don't have much to say about themselves anyway.

Blessings and love,
Susan

Keep out there fighting that good fight...I have only learned recently since I started using a walker or cane of how people are not seen or heard when they are right in front of you...e

I think we all from time to time have the tenedcy to feel we are invisible but we have to focuse back on the good things where we also stood in the limelight such as when you did your TV show, or read poemst to the vets ..etc.

Don't know what to say. Hell Karla, try to rise above it. If I can fight my demons that have tortured me for decades you can rise above weak-minded people. YOU know who YOU are, fuck them.

It's shamefully easy to do, and I always make it a point to make eye contact and smile. It lights up my heart just like it does the one who needs it most. Thanks, Patrick

an anguished cry from the heart, Karla, that has every right to make itself heard - and to remain persistent until it does so. Those who are real soul-touchers will always see the person ahead of their colour, creed, status or disability. It is those sadly confined to the cell bars of their own minds who are continually using a narrow guage to measure appearance by... But know this: it's because they can never measure up themselves that they feel the need to dismiss others as well. I'm so sorry for the plight you articulate here. It stems from living, perhaps, in materialist societies where we are weighed by outward trappings rather than looking directly into another pair of human eyes. Painful truths here. xx

Nobody see the wind...but it is there, nobody see the perfume of roses but it is there and, apparently, nobody see Karla but she's there in plain view for her friends...that can see her.
