ordinances.' Perhaps so. But
you didn't ask U.S. what we
wanted, just went ahead and
pleased those that most offend.
Somewhere, someone is crying,
missing loved ones taken that
September morn. Do you care?

Well spoken!! This is an outrage and the terrorists are laughing in our face. It's bad enough that the twin towers have yet to be replaced but to try and replace them with a muslim mosgue?? I am not a bigot and respect other's religious freedom--however when that rligion includes killing all who are not of that religion, it's time to stand up and stop the nonsense.

Dear Karla,
It's understandable that every year, as we approach the 9/11 anniversary, American's emotions run high. It was a terrible tragedy but should we abandon American values because of it? To do so would allow the terrorists a victory.
America was founded on religious freedom. If we take away the rights of Muslims, what is next? Will Jews not be allowed to build their synagogues? Will Christians be denied their right to build churches?
The building site in question is actually two blocks away from ground zero. President Obama is Not the one who decided it would be OK to build a mosque there. That decision was made by those in NYC who have the authority to make that decision. Our President only said that he supported America's foundation of religious freedom under the laws of our country.
Yes, Americans, whether directly or indirectly affected by the terrible tragedy of 9/11, will continue to shed tears in remembrance of their loved ones who lost their lives that day. By the way, the victims were of multiple faiths. I remember that day very well ... I was directing my church choir in a funeral. The notes were sour that day because all of our hearts were filled with sorrow.
Rest assured, President Obama also cares about what happened that day and that's why he has made a solid commitment to wipe out al-qaeda in Afghanistan. This is a far cry from the Bush administration which chose to abandon that mission in order to launch an illegal invasion of Iraq. FYI ... there was No al-qaeda in Iraq before the U.S. invasion.
I pray that you will open your heart to a greater understanding. A heart that is guided by Love instead of Fear. Please don't allow yourself to be blinded by hate.
Since I lost a loved one on 9/11 I have to agree that building a muslim mosque on the site of the WTC is in rather bad taste & I have already written to the govenor of NY to complain of it...
As for Peter's statement about cartoons, I too would love to just watch Bugs bunny &/or the Three Stooges...e

this would have been like erecting a statue of hirohito in times square in 1943. i'm only watching cartoons for now on. sponge bob maybe??
This is so right on, thank you for sharing, religious freedom and freedom for all, is at the pinnacle of our society. Women being slaughtered while they pray to there god, by their own men. People being doubted and shunned for the color of their skin. Thank you for sharing this one. We all feared that horrible day, the tragedy cast by the power's that be, whoever that may be.
