Sometimes I get melancholy but never, ever give up.

Poem Artwork

My Foes

I breathe in and breathe out
And the grass still grows
The sun still rises
And I still fight my foes

Someday there will be no more breath
The grass will wither and die
The sun will no longer rise for me
And I will no longer cry

But today the dogs need to be fed
And the lawn needs to be mowed
I’ll pray for a cloud in the desert sky
As I continue to fight my foes

Raelynn we all have those days, Just focus on the many reasons to move ahead in life, smile and carry on even if it is to feed the dag or mow the lawn or share another write with those who look forward to hearing from you.

Hi RaeLynn,
I fight this many days, myself. Some days I don't feel like rising from bed, fighting allergies or hip pains, but the dog needs fed, the house needs cleaned and I know that if I don't do these things, they won't get done. Sometimes focusing on what needs to be done helps us to overcome the issues that are bothering us.
Keep the faith and keep writing the thoughts in your heart.

Hugs,
Jill

...and you will smile that marvelous smile of yours and think of all the ones who care about you here on the den, those who enjoy your writes, and those who have become your friends...this poem says that you can survive and thrive.
