Seven thousand miles is not enough,
For freedom from a tongue as rough.
With words so harsh to make her cry,
Must happiness always pass her by.
A bit of respite is all she wants,
But still a demon's there to taunt.
Not the one she left behind,
Another jackel did she find.
This pompous ass can't see her pain,
And left her crying in the rain.
With slander so vile if I were there,
He'd now be gasping for some air.
Walt

happiness is many times it seems just outside our reach. Glad you got a hold on this one. lady j
Nice to have a man around, too bad those types of guys never have the guts to stand up to a man. Thanks for caring and listen toGeorg wear the GI boots and kick some ass. Thank you Walt.
Walt, this picture fits with the poem so well, a vile tongue can hurt worse than a beating and in such cases, I do believe, it is best to end all communications with someone who can beat a person through words. Yes, these bully types usually are pretty tough when it comes to scaring some women and children but back down real fast when confronted with someonne who is not afraid of their bullshit.
Sounds like she needs a good dose of "you." Your concern is obvious as is your pain. Sometimes we just need a good friend to help figure things out, and then ... life is beautiful, again.
The pain of separation and distance are evident in this letter, of wanting to be yourlady's knight in shining armor, and frustration, because you can't. Well done. Hope all resolves itself--
"Elusive Happiness" left the impression with me of two people hurting, the one who is seven thousand miles away and the one who sees her pain. Frustration and anger rides on the back of pain. A strong write.
I'm so sorry. A bold voice Walt, I wish you were there. Inner fortitude has not a damn thing to do with some of the situations life forces gentle hearts into.
Slaves who fled their masters were classified as insane. This term came from Dr. Samuel Cartwright who was an apologist for slavery in the pre-Civil War era. This release of my Anoka Time file is a look at slavery in the modern context of Minnesota N
