Hey I never clicked on this back in Feb. I like this because - replace that absolutely beautiful boat and sailing life with a tired old piano and a worn out musician AND this is my SONG TOO! Both parents dead, no wife or girl - but I'm (for now) STUCK in my weed patch! Do it man - all the things you love while there's time - SAIL! (and bring the Last Renaissance Man along - it's a good sailor's novel (and a copy of my CD (soon) what better ocean music!
PS: can't blame me for putting in a plug can ya?)

Walt no one is meant to live their life alone, t6hat is why God had two of everything put on Noahs ark,Just be ptient and take the time to relax and enjoy, give yourself time to reach that prfect mate. Thank you for sharing.
I think our fate is what we make of it. After my shock and dismay from my divorce wore off, I eventually reveled in my freedom, and vowed never to marry again - but I did, and now I am happy as a married man, once more. But sailing free as the breeze sounds mighty fine, too!
Walt, is it a coincidence that you would share this poem on the anniversary of the death of my father in 1965 in a truck train wreck. Even 43 years later, I still remember.
hey Walt, still waiting for the call,I've never been on a sail boat[hint hint hint]I understand those moments when that huge wave of life crashes into your, face to remind you of everything you thought you forgot about, and was past....nice write...matey....or I mead skipper..or is that captain,, how about Walt,

A solitary life, perhaps, but NOT a hermitage. Yet, sun, fun, the sea, meeting new folks, broadening your horizons - not too bad. I'd offer to be your first mate, but I think Steve would disapprove. LOL
God bless you. Kathy

If she's gone for good, get out and do some shopping and fishing!!! More fish in the sea, they say. Don't let anyone tell you all the good ones are taken. Hogwash! There are plenty of good ones. Maybe you need a Colombian!
I detect an undercurrent of cynism here, Yachtclubs, marinas, margaritas, sailboat, no snow, no parents, a very streneous life, what could entice you to be lonesome? an open sea of opportunity?
Snap out of it, pronto, my friend, rich opportunities await you!
Go get! Jasmin Horst
From what I can see here, Wally, it ain't bad at all! What's it gonna be... naggy rae at home, or freedom on the sea, talking to the dolphins?
No worries, mate! I'd take the latter!

Walt, I feel the loneliness in this writing...the feelings of being a lone and full of anxieties. You've captured a great canvas here of a person with their head hanging low with feelings of rejection and pain, but with a desire for a new beginning. This is sad but a great write!
I'm sorry for the loss of your parents. You only become lost if you allow yourself to be. A solitary lifestyle might not be too bad - you don't have to answer to anyone but yourself (and to God, of course LOL). I'd join you on the high seas, if I could -

Karen would join you, but she can't swim - took lessons three times, she floats - like a rock - straight down!
