Poem Artwork

Pain like a sledge hammer,
Pounding my heart.
Like a thespian on the stage,
I am performing my part.

I see the other players,
Realities lived almost scripted it would seem.
Hoping it’s a performance yet knowing it’s not,
A playwrights’ Eldorado, his loftiest dream.

Mistakes constantly recurring,
Sanity afforded only a few.
A comedy of errors made time and again,
Not very often is anything new.

Before my dressing room mirror I ponder their fate,
Would my entrance had been early,
I might could have helped.
But in lifes' cruel reality, it was way too late.

So alone in my room now I ponder their fate.
The others by now you’ve guessed are not really a cast.
They’re neighbors, friends and loved ones,
People I care for with feelings so vast.

Just know my hands are shackled to help you,
In the struggle to end your insanity.
For they must hold tight my own life,
And barely can help me.

By writing it down, you have shared your pain with us, Walt...It's hard when things keep happening that we have no control over...realistically the only ones we can control are ourselves! My heart goes out to you....

Life is a constant stuggle between laughter and tears and the only thing that divides them are the the family, friends and loved ones around us. Nicely done Walt as always.

This tugs at the heart, your anguish is clear, but there are times when there is nothing more one can do. I pray you be well and fill your mind with peace...

Be always safe,
Karen

Walt, just to be there for them is all we can offer in those situations. We are not capable of super-human feats. Unfortunate but such is the reality of life and who we are in the greater scheme of existence. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

WELL...WHAT IS SANE AND WHAT IS INSANE? DO THEY NEED YOUR HELP OR...DO YOU NEED THEIR HELP? AND WHILE YOU'RE PONDERING THEIR FATE...THEY'RE PROBABLY PONDERING YOURS. YOU ARE RIGHT THOUGH...THEIR LIVES ARE NOT YOUR RESPONSBILITY AND YOUR LIFE IS NOT THEIRS...BUT, FOR SURE...'ALL' LIVES BELONG TO GOD. MY SUGGESTION?...GIVE THE WHOLE MESS OVER TO HIM AND LET HIM STRAIGHTEN IT OUT(SMILE)! THANK YOU WALT...I AM STILL LAUGHING...AND I NEEDED IT. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Obviously I don't know where you are coming from, but I can see for the most part where this is heading...I wish you strength in your struggle & am happy to see you writing...it usually alleviates pain & stress to some degree for me, hope it does for you...Ed

Heartrending. To sit by helpless is not fun, but sometimes it's your only choice. I too had to make such a decision in the past year and it was not fun, but you would know that. I barely made it as it was and I did stand by the loved one while they struggled. It was all there was I could do. Great write. Liz
