We connected in the early morning You shone bright as the sun Before it had even risen Dulling the moon with your smile We shared the tender moments That new found friends enjoy And bonded in an instant Becoming thick as thieves in the night We cried each other's tears As we talked of love and pain You knew of my torment And you promised to stay by my side We knew without speaking The depths of our feelings Then you chose the one thing That would raise a wall between us We parted in the early morning Your words wounding my soul The deafening silence Revealing your ultimate betrayal ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Elizabeth Galvez ©2002 Elizabeth Galvez ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
