Sadly an innocent child must pay the price, when Mama needs a man.

Poem Artwork

My Mama got me a new so-called Daddy, his name is Bill,
He is always calling me names, yelling," SHUT-UP and BE STILL!"
I am three years old and can show you on my fingers, if you ask,
But it might take me a minute, I'm just learnin how, it's a task.
Bill is always mean to me, but Mama says, " Try to understand",
" Mama is so lonely and needs a man".
When Bill hits me, it hurts real bad,
Mama will just leave the room and that makes me sad.
Bill drinks something out of a bottle, all day,
Then he goes to sleep, I must be quiet and not play.
If I should wake him, he calls me a brat and not worth a damn,
But in Sunday School, I was told I was Jesus's Little Lamb.
They also told me that I have an Angel, that I can't see,
GOD sends her everyday to watch over me.
Oh No, Bill's awake, he's hitting me, he's hurt my head,
He won't stop! I can't move now, he has just laid me in my bed.
Now I can see the Angel and can feel her gentle touch,
I feel so warm, I'm not afraid, I feel loved very much.
She's taken me to heaven, I am walking on a street of gold,
I show the gathered Angels, three fingers, telling them." I am three years old".

OH MY God!
This stunned me, I know this sadly and horrifyingly happens in some Cold Selfish families!
But you brought this to a head so quick, my tears just kept streaming!
That poor poor soul! Just wanting to be herself!
Your wrote it so well and in Short form as usual!
Love, Shee

A poor and sad little girl story, sometimes a mother's instinct inside a poetess will write a such delicate pearl like this one.

Oh dear God, how this tears my heart to shreds. What children must endure at the hands of a parent, step parent is unfortunately becoming a daily reality. Those we are to love and protect are being disgarded like the evening trash. God have mercy on their souls.....

Be always safe,
Karen

Oh sweet SC my heart breaks when I read the truth of what really do happen in this world to the innocent babes who can not fight for themselves. I can't believe those cowards who seem to get off hurting them. Thank you for sharing.

Very sad but moving piece that captures the sweet innocence of a child who should only have to worry about pretentd monsters not real ones.

An awesomely sad write heartfully painful. "Mama Needs A Man" I surely hope there is not a woman on this earth that needs a man so badly that they sacrifice their own child, however I am not naive and know this devilish thing occurs more times than anyone on earth would ever want to know.

Blessings and take care,
~Gwendolyn

The dear little sweet voice of the child just grips your heart and soul.
