I have realized the sadness
that has captured my heart,
You never really loved me,
You only played the game.

You professed your love,
but never really meant
any of those words.
I was the fool.

Leaving me,
was proof of that,
running was the cement
that sealed our fate.

I have often wondered,
where you were
at random moments,
only to be brought to tears

and feelings of longing
for your kiss upon my lips,
your hand upon my cheek,
but why?

Only a fool can live among
such deception,
Only a fool can long
for a love that is unworthy.

Can I go on without you?
Yes, because now I know,
You are unable to love me,
As I deserve to be loved.

Live your life,
Leave me alone,
never to be harmed
by your insecurities.
