The Twig Of Life

Swiftly the brook runs as if being chased by time,
The frigid air stifles my breath,
as I watch the water running quickly down hill.
The sound of the rushing water soothes my soul.
So many times I have watched this brook flow,
but today seems more significant than others,
It is as if hope is flowing within it's stream.
Realization that life does go on no matter what.
Following the path of the water flow,
I see a squirrel wrestling with a twig
Upon dropping it, the water flow is altered.
The water is now diverted toward the right.
It signifies to me that we can change our path
with just one tiny movement or choice.
We rush around with out seeing what is in front of us,
missing all the beauty there is in our lives.
Just like the squirrel, I have dropped my twig,
altered my life to begin to live in the moment,
to again see the beauty that Mother Earth has given us,
and to feel the blessings of my life.
May you drop your twig and live the life
that you were destined to live.
Go in peace, love, and light
live life to it's fullest and spread joy to all that you meet.

I want to sit on that BIG Rock, to the right!My 1st. thought as I read was - I bet she went over and moved the twig, for Life to move smoothly... as in Balance, but it wasn't in your poem! Oh well, I could see where you were going! and you were Blessed/Inspired or Blessed with GREAT Inspiration, to write this MUCH NEEDED POEM! I hope many read it, feel it, know it and BELEIVE IT! and then do it! as their lives will u n f o l d, slowly or fast, but much will take place, once it's been put OUT into the UNIVERSE! WE must keep believing in Change, for good to come in our direction! YUP, I lOVED this poem - Can YOU tell, Dah!
