Sentimental Journey

Sentimental journey
traveling toward the end,
Life has been quite lovely
there is nothing to pretend.
Traveling along the pathways
Singing life's melodies,
remembering all those pleasures,
and some of life's tragedies.
Feeling blessed many times over,
with all the bounty of life's love,
children sent to adore
thanking the heavens above.
Honoring my sentimental journey,
shelters me from the cold
wrapping me in loves cocoon
with feelings of peace to behold.
Sentimental Journey
Always traveling toward the end,
Life is a journey filled with a joyful
learning, teaching and loving blend.
Searching for answers to life's questions
Seeking love to fulfill life's energy
Reaching out to the universal flow
In a world filled with nature's beauty.
Sends me on this sentimental journey
as a way of reminding me
just how fortunate I have been,
to be living as a spirit that is free!
author's notes: I wrote the beginning of this poem, while I was awaiting the birth of my new grandson, Kason Scott. I finished it today after the death of my grandson's dog, Gus. What an amazing journey life is. A journey filled with pleasures (blessings) and tragedies.
Congratulations on the birth of your grandson. It's too bad that his arrival had to be marked by a sad occasion. God has a way of showing us the truth about balance at the oddest times. I lost a dog in Feb. 2008. It hurt terribly. I would not have been able to see the joy of a baby's arrival. A great poem to pay tribute to this bittersweet day. Hugs,

those two lines sums up this treasured writing
This was so uplifting and gave you "warm soft fuzzies." I am sorry about your grandson's dog though, I'm sure he's devastated. What an irony, the beginning of life and the end of it.
