We are losing our natural resources at an alarming rate but the one thing I fear we are losing is our freedom in this political climate we are in.

Indeed we must, Amber, but we see not with the eyes of the heart that floods the mind with emotion - but instead with the eyes of the mind that overrides the compassionate, pro-active energies of the heart. The mind is often cold and obsessively preoccupied with its own private "business". It will take a melding of engaged and melted hearts to stem the flow and dam the flood. Otherwise, when it is too late, we will have all the time in the world to not only see but experience "what we are seeing"! Water rules the world and yet we continue to make our obstinate minds our personal paradise islands while all else drowns. However, it is the heart that can flourish and blossom with all good things when sorrounded by chaos, so perhaps that's what it takes to "wake us up!". It's already happening here. Dear Amber, your poem raises very important questions. You are not the only one who brought up those questions. After thousands of years, these questions are still alive. The time of the awakening is still far for most of the people. Those who see those questions are few and no one pays attention, because their time has not arrived. The task of those who see is very big, but the time will come. We need to have patience, compassion, and perseverance. First and foremost, we should keep our faith intact. Tangerine of the citrus eye of the navel, the center of the attention span where our neurotransmitters respond to light beaming us up to a higher form of intelligence, Amber...the Earth will replenish itself and greed will be buried under layers and layers of shell and soil, burying with it, those with evil intentions and those who have left scars upon Gaia's surface, the polluters and the poachers...your vision reminds us of this day coming when all of Mother Earth replenishes itself and its goodly people...all others will perish...be well...

about the Maya calendar prophecies (2012)
Their demise maybe came from their water source
becoming poisoned from their sacrificial human
blood flowing into the water where they decided
to sacrifice members in the ritual offered

I think that more and more people are learning to see... but those who see are afraid of the unknown and somehow isolated. Meanwhile, those who manipulate our fears grow powerful. That's the way I see it. :)

It makes you wonder. I think it's human nature to bury our collective heads in the sand until things really get desperate. I believe there is a mass awakening taking place, at the same time that the power elite are trying to keep us dumbed down and confused. More will be revealed. Nice poem.

The "litany" style works so very well here. I especially liked your change in the last line. It serves well as the "Amen" of the litany.

Too many people don't want to see or know what's going on in front of them, and that's a durn shame indeed! Powerful message in this, Amber; well done!
