The Soul Mate Connection

Tenderness steals the heart,
slowly forming a circle of love
that will sustain any storm.
Nothing can stand in the way,
only the higher power of the rested mind
can understand,
when a soul has felt that tenderness,
the state of unconditional love
and thought provoking care.
It sometimes feels so intense
that you have to go out and just shout
out to the Universe that you are peace, you are love!
Where does it all begin?
Where will it all end?
The Universal energy of the lover's soul.
There is an ache so deep,
that only tears can touch it,
while trembling with ecstasy.
It is a feeling so deeply rooted
in a person's soul
that words cannot begin to describe it's purpose.
It is like a restless itch,
that if left unscratched
will drive you simply mad.
Or a soft pain
that only a thunderstorm
can drown out the depth of it's sorrow.
When this energy knows it's mate,
the separation is unbearable,
as if half of that soul is missing.
Only complete, upon consummation
of body and soul
will the lover's energy find it's true home.

This poem goes to the very heart of why living is worthwhile, it is the expression of what is possible when we communicate, feel and love in the right way, on the right path, without selfish 'what's in it for me' agenda or 'angle'...it is a poem of 'the rested mind' and it's beautiful.

... this is an extraordinary poem, Amber. It comes from a very deep place of longing, of knowing and of experience. It is deeply felt and therefore eloquently expressed and precisely articulated. Such a love, as the Bible says, "is as strong as death and as unyielding as the grave" and you admirably give voice to that desolation which comes from being apart from a known soulmate. How many of us, I wonder, have truly yet to come home in the way that you wonderfully summarise? Blessed are those who already have found their way there and are living in peace and fulfillment. Yet I have a soul mate who I don't love as in Eros, but kinda in Agape love. With this has come a lot of freedom.
