I like this poem...it is very natural and fascinating....The heart never lies and the soul often serves as our most pre-eminent compass for moral/spiritual direction....I too believe I hold a pyshic connection to the spiritual world accessible as I come to learn through many mediums...this might sound bizarre but I can flip to a random page in websters dictionary or any book an receieve revelation about what any particualal person or entity is thinking on a matter....this all began when i first took a leap of faith during my junior year in undergrad and flipped open to a random page in websters after going through a bt of an ordeal (which i detail and chronicle painstakingly in my memoir Big Brother is Forever Watching....a book i def recommened when it becomes available...have already submitted for final editing and cover art..smile) and the word which came up when i asked God what muy purpose was was the word "social work" at the top of the pagee....these revelations occur time and time again... i could offer many more but u would have to read the book first to understand the context..anyhow best wishes and keep up the good work

The heart can only know truth, Amber. It can be persuaded by the mind, which is so false with its reasoning sometimes, and, as you say, know both the joys and pains of the mirror of the soul - yet it is that tangible, fleshly part of us that can only SPEAK truth when truly speaking for and of itself. How wretched we can become when not allowed to follow our heart and what problems it can throw up! The heart is our seat of innocence in its raw and unadulterated state: it is like a garden that has no choice but to accept whatever the mind has will to put into it... but when released to speak, it has only integrity to give. Sorry, I don't know why I have landed on this aspect of your poem to indulge myself with, but the three-fold nature of your well-articulated poem certainly does highlight the deeply entangled interaction of the heart-soul-mind that can either tie us in tightly, like a three-fold cord, or, conversely, when the are at odds with each other, throw us completely off like a wobbly, three-legged stool! :)) You have such an ability to "know yourself".
