my grandson came to visit today, it was an eye opening day.

Beauty Of My World

by Amber "V" Moonstone

9/18/10


He peeked his head
through the railings,
joyfully pointing
to the squirrel in the yard.

As the squirrel moved
he did too,
from one opening to the other
just to watch the squirrel.

Such blissful innocence
revealing an open heart
and an open mind,
that is filled with love.

A child sees so clearly
with purity of mind and soul.
If only we could get an ounce
of this wonderment back

our hearts would sing
our minds would ring
with honesty and joy.
Our health would reap the benefits.

Today I saw how lucky
I am to be living where I do.
My grandson showed me
the beauty of my world.

yes! Grandchildren do re-open our eyes to the beauty that surrounds us,that we took for granted,with age. Superb poem,and what an adorable pic making you want to hug and squeeze him,which I'm sure you do a lot;)!

We have 14 grandchildren and we are surrounded with beauty of their innocence. A beautiful write Amber and a handsome young man I must say.

Lovely sentiments about the beauty and wonder born from the innocence of childhood, Amber. Thank you. I think you meant to write, "peeked" in the first verse. Your poem reminds me of why I don't take offense when people tell me that I never "grew up." Love and best wishes,

A very handsome little boy. You must be very proud. We learn a lot from children. There is so much beauty in there eyes. They do not see faults in a person as adults do. Awesome poem, Amber.
