Dream Sensations

It's a bare wall,
darkend by age,
rough to the touch,
but strong and tall.
I approach the wall,
pushing it as hard as I can,
It doesn't budge,
but for an instant it feels shaky.
I stand back to view this barrier,
I feel as though I am being held back,
not able to see beyond this wall,
I must break this wall down.
Next I find myself on top of the wall,
looking down, frightened for my life,
I am so high up, I feel like I am isolated,
never have I been this far up on my own.
I shout out for help,
no one comes, no one hears me,
I am surrounded by a strange warmth,
It feels as though someone is hugging me.
I see no one, but can feel a presence.
Is it my guardian angel?
Or perhaps the arms of my higher power,
I begin to weep and then I feel released.
I slide down the wall to the ground,
I am safe from harm.
I feel the Earth beneath my feet,
it is a comforting feeling.
Next I am running in a field of sunflowers,
they are radiant and tall.
I can feel their warmth
and I know that I am not near home.
I hear some music in the distance,
so I run toward the sounds,
it is a choir singing Ava Maria.
I know this song, it was from my childhood.
My Nana sang it to me at night,
her voice was as sweet as the melody.
I see her standing there,
She opens her arms, welcoming me.
Then I see my grandfather NuNu,
He is smiling at me,
motioning me to follow them,
I walk behind them toward the music.
There is a crowd standing around a fire,
they are singing songs and cooking.
It is a vivid memory from my past,
comforting and familiar.
As I am about to join in on the singing,
I am awakened by the sun shining in my window,
what a glorious day it will be,
for I have seen my dear grandparents one more time.
