 Let Me Hear The Rain
by Amber "V" Moonstone

7/15/13

Sedately walking through the corridors of my mind,
trying to grasp an ounce of rest
drinking in the taste of life
struggling to hear the rain.

Can there be relief in sight,
relishing comfort from just one drop
of nature's cool refreshment.
that longs to be felt at this very moment in time.

Mother Nature has been dry,
the solar heat unberablely radiant,
evening moonlight soothes your soul,
with gentle breezes as it lights.

When will the rain fall,
will it come today or not?
can I smile from fallen droplets
that quenches my longing thirst.

Torrid heat embodies lustful thoughts,
of times spent thinking of him,
to run in playful falling rain,
would then be relief once again!

We do much to escape the heat and it often leads us down a path of memories when the rain would come to wash away those uncertainties and the seemingly endless heat. Your write will make that day that the rains come that much more welcome.

It has been incredibly hot here too, dear Amber... but there is more then one interpretation to this poem. Those corridors in your mind, that thirst, could be a longing for many things, maybe of spiritual nature.

It makes me like rain, but not for too long, as I live in a country with an endless, rainy winter!

Not to worry the rain will come and it will be glorious when it happens. Good write.

It seems to rain when we do not want it and when we do ask for
it will not come.

Always,

Lovely poem. Step into my world for a day or two. We've had enough rain to refresh your soul for days on end. Keep the faith; it will come in due time.

At least the heat reminds you of something good. What your poem reminds me of is an old song: “All day I face, a barren waste… without a trace… of water. Cool, clear, water.”

Nicely done, Amber...it's been really hot and dry here for the past 2 weeks...wouldn't mind a few raindrops right about now...

Maybe you should relocate to the swamp where I reside, Amber. We get at least one shower, sometimes hard rain daily, usually in the afternoon. If you can't relocate, then I'm hoping you get some of the wet stuff s-o-o-n . . .
