Going about our daily routine
Noticing not the surrounding scenes
Never seeing the hearts in decline
Desperate souls, no hope left to find
Lonely spirits so needy for love
An assuring embrace, a gift of time
Some simple kindness no push no shove
A smile, a word, some giving of hope
Shining light where only darkness floats
And in the act the reward revealed
A difference made a stranger healed
Intoxicating this kindness rush
Wanting more, another heart to touch
In reaching out, finding loving trust
The act of giving is now a must
