Poem Artwork

Suffering becomes your spirit not
Were it mine to take
I would drain it all from your heart
Bare the consequences of your burdens
Liberating you from all things unwanted
If I could only make it so
Like a knife in my heart
Your anguish torments my soul
Torturing the very essence of my being
Selfish I know
Better to suffer for you
Than to watch you wither and die
Better to merge the pain on to my shoulders
Than for us both to lay crippled and lifeless
If only you could let it go
Let if flow into me
Allow it to be so
Set it free, I will gladly consume it
For my love for you can endure all hardships
All suffering so long as it is not within you
Give it to me, I accept it freely and wantingly
Be free, for US, be free

Indeed..to absorb anothers pain..to transmute it with the Love so freely given..is this not giving up your life for a friend...indeed!?..is that what the Great One meant?
