Only Myself To Blame

Poem Artwork

Life withered from pain

Days lost to routine

Time lingers boredom reins

Distraction the only gain

Purpose abandons the soul

Aimlessly traveling no goals

Numbing isolation, all alone

Disconnected nowhere to go

Maybe its time to go home

But where that is who knows

Mindless the journey flows

Not living, not loving

Not feeling, not seeing

Not being, just existing

Lost and unnoticed

Forgotten and misplaced

Passing through no face

Invisible amongst the masses

Present without a trace

Aware yet not caring

Life wasted without sharing

Only myself to blame

I guess we all feel the same at times....but to blame ourself for those unwanted things that cross our paths!!

Thanks for more insight!!

Exceptional...emotionally driven yet laden with truth: for in all things, we've only ourselves to blame. As Vesna said, "we are relieved of the burden..." and I add, "by Christ and His cross.

Your sense of romanticism shines through the sadness; so, I pray the loneliness is not yours.

Lots of love in Christ~~

..indeed the truth is just THAT..we have only ourself to blame..the up-side is that we are relieved of the burden of blame..it can be as heavy as lead...Thankyou Michael..

Michael, you write of a loneliness, or emptiness that too many walk this earth with... so sad, and deeply felt by this one...

The feelings of "lost" are well-portrayed in this poem. The picture is an icing on the cake.
