Poem Artwork

The Stradivarius is silent today

No golden notes does it play

The mellow bass and the clarinet

The instruments of blues trapped in loves net

Playing their sad melodies

You are gone; we will always be friends you say

I was only a good friend to have fun with and play

No more or any less, just friends

Friends we will always be.

I will apply my very best mask

To hide my pain and tears

I do not want you to see

How much I feel.

For it would cause you pain

And that I could not take the strain

Of seeing my pain reflected back at me

Through my friend’s dear eyes

And so your friend I will be

Forever and always

I wish you happiness in all you do

And that all good things never bad

Come knocking at your door.

Is this all happening now? If it were me I would have been deep into a three page epic write! You take things well and evenly and your poetry is so balanced. That says something about you -- the little I know, you're too upbeat to be beat down. When you get over this, write me a real funny one. Best

Sad but honest and soul-reaching sentiments, Ann. I can relate to what you express. Love, peace, and strength to you,

Kind of like having your love just slightly out of reach. Very poetic write.

I guess this happens more than people think when youthful friendships go separate ways. Sad at times.

When love is cut short by one party but not the other, we have several choices, we can be angry and let the pain feed on our anger, we can be sad but swallow and hide our sadness behind a mask of indifference...or we can sit back think about it and be thankful for that short sweet time when love was in bloom and we shared a little bit of perfection...
