Between Two Worlds

Caught between breeze and sea,
hips glide with incoming tide,
tail soaking in menthol bath,
rubbing salts, silken belly,
….cut her free, she’ll dive deep,
seeking shelter in a clam

Caught between breeze and sea,
golden curls meet mid back,
breasts afloat with lily pads,
scarlet blossoms, intoxicate,
…release her, she’ll quest sea legs,
and run where the wind blows

Caught between two worlds,
neither one was meant to be,
pale and lifeless, she lay limp,
alas, an Angel set her free,
then carried her home at peace

Full of sensuality; I visualize a mermaid, or just someone who cannot choose between two worlds.

Oscar Wilde would be proud of such a poem.
This has the potential of an amazing story.
"Breasts afloat" can't think why but that bring to mind my breast, I mean best visuals. xx :)

Christine, there is an ethereal and sensual beauty to this piece and the image which precedes it fits it perfectly. The beauty of that girl tugs at me...I know not of which hand it beckons. My painting hand or my writing one...they are both inspired so.

Such beautiful images grace this poem, Christine, that we can totally see and feel this sea-angel, life-like and natural. Soft and tender, we feel her pain - and her ultimate relief. This conjures very intense feeling as we enter into her world. So real. And lovely. xx

Such a wonderful and soul-reaching creative piece, Christine; your words enter my being. As for angels, I do not know where I'd be today if they had not saved me along the way. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and best wishes,

Regis

A marvelously crafted analogy Christine. Tender with compassion and understanding. The mermaid, an enigma that symbolizes our quest to join beauty with our need to endure anywhere. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

She is the beauty we dream and the struggle
we endure, Christine, in finding happiness.
Your imagery is delicately crafted but with
strength and passion.
This is fine writing.

Angels always have our backs when we need them!! I felt so many emotions while reading your words. Sea legs and running where the wind blows really hits home! Sometimes things just aren't meant to be...That is when you let God take over...I love Mermaids and you write about them so well my friend! Hugs! ~Chessly

Äs an old sailor and true lover of the sea and all things in it including mermaids, I read this at first as the opening verses seemed to be sad but than when the wind began to blow, and she seemed to have found a rescuer (perhaps with his sea salted kisses) found her finally at peace I smiled knowing wishes can come true. A truly beautiful write Chrissie, I love it.

This is glorious!!!
It does batter and bruise a mermaid to be caught between two worlds.
The spirit is always aching to bridge the two worlds, wanting a happy ending. Such a brilliant poem!
Blessings,
Christine

So much death this morning- and too much of it real.
