Straddling two worlds – neither will embrace me but both must reckon with me for I will refuse to make false choice.
Pushed out of one that deemed me unworthy, shunned, sent on my way alone, stripped of my safety, strength and support.
Mocked by other for steadfast insistence on reconciliation they say will never be forthcoming.
Straddling two worlds – both would cast, cast me out rather than reel me in and have to confront the “other” in me.

Wow. Dawn, I think we must be on some sort of an emotional "party line." I know exactly what this poem is saying. To me, anyway. I mean, I could have written it myself, and it would most definitely fit my life! You know?! I'm sure I don't know *exactly* what you meant, on a personal level, but in "abstracts" -- definitely a tremendously similar wavelength. (I hope that doesn't offend, or frighten, you?! *grin?*) Anyway -- I dig it. I dig it lots!
