She’s left me for some other poet; she’s left me alone with empty inkwell, crowded thoughts {about nothing much} and the tick-tock of time infernal.
I initiate game of hide-and-seek, knowing full well it is she who must come to me. I conjure her image, utter mindless incantations until I fall asleep.
When I wake and think I’ve sensed at last her elusive presence, I grab paper and pen, listen intently. All I hear is her enchanted laughter echoing taunts in the night, and I am not amused.

Ahhh writer's block and the lack of muse-support... I know them well... sometimes they in themselves provide the best inspiration... I like this :)

This is a beauty, Dawn!
I'm so glad I checked into the Den today.
This really captures that mutual problem of poets. God we love a clear signal, but it ain't always that way.

Dawn, this is an excellent look and the emotional roller coaster one goes through when it’s not there. I enjoyed this write very much, Poet. Well written.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.

Beautiful work. I can surely relate to this. I hear the call and the snickering in my sleep. My muse is not kind.
