LOL!!!!!...this is so true!!!!! We all inherit something from out ancestors. - My smiles are like my mom's, the shape of my face and my mouth is like my dad's...and...if you read my story of "Swearing..." - I even swear like my dad. Heeeheee!
But then again, the combination of all has made me who I am, and I am proud of who I am!!!
This poem is so cute, and I like that little girl in the picture. It reminds me so much of myself when I looked into the mirror everyday when I was small, wondering who I look like more, and if I were pretty. Heeeheee!!!
This is so cute and true. When I was a little girl I would get so tired of everyone telling me that I looked just like my dad...I mean after all I was a little girl, not a boy. Now they say that I look like my brother...wonder when the madness will end, I actually think I look like my mother. But anyway, this was a great write as always.
Blessings,

You take a piece of each of us and put us into poetry, CJ...even the little things we overlook or take for granted. I'm so guilty of looking for a parent's features in a child's face, or hearing myself how I look just like my mother or have my father's eyes...or the, "well, you can certainly tell which one is your child". It is nice to be seen as just ourselves. Charming write , CJ...and much enjoyed.

Now that's shrewed, CJ. Everybody wants to have some trait of a new born baby. Sometimes I just laugh at how outrageous these comparisons are. Excellent. Victor
Your poems always bring back memories. I know I've said that before, but they do. I walked like Uncle Jewel, a chin like my Dad, Hair like my Mom's and yadda, yadda. Those things weren't bad but they can get on a kids little nerve. Great as always CJ.

I love the Groucho Marx line in A Night At The Opera where he moves from one dining table to sit with Margaret Dumont. She had complained that he preferred the other woman. Groucho said, in part, that the other woman reminded him of her, but the funny line was 'You know, even you remind me of you.'
The oddest comment I ever heard was when at a wake, a viewer came away from the one that had passed away saying 'Aye, he looks like himself.' A guy who had to wait until he died before he reached the last line of your poem.
Children love to sink their teeth into sweet and delicious fruit. This story and teaching will have them sinking their hearts into the Fruit of the Spirit.
