Isn't it amazing how children will eventually learn how to decipher a lie from a little white lie...isn't it amazing how adults will too! HA!

What wonderful poetry you write for children! So good when we're a kid-at-heart, that we happily understand exactly what you refer to!

The last line got me to checking my nails at the cuticle...for those beginning white moons - tell tale signs of little white lies told...or so my Mom would tell us :o) Ohmygosh...there's one on each thumbnail and a teensy on my right index finger! Carry-over from days past...gotta be. LOL

A pleasure to read, CJ. You have an uncanny ability to see the world through the eyes of a child while most adults have long forgotten the periferal view and can only focus on tunnel vision. I always seem to find a message in your children's poetry.

A very nice poem from the child's viewpoint--and then--the surprise ending! Must be hard for a kid to understand sometimes, how stories are okay for Mommy but not okay for me.
I had one out of five who was a champion story-teller.

I beginning to wonder who the kid really is here. It takes the heart of a child in an adult's mind to sweep an audience as you do CJ. It is a treasure to have the awe of the chld within and they're isn't that many around with that kind of magic.

Ah CJ, you point out the all important difference between a grownup and child's imagination. As always, written with your insight to the mind of a child. Since you are a great story teller, would I be correct to assume you had a proclivity toward...ah...er...stories as a child. lol
