This is not my best lyric, but it is an arranged song that appears in my songbook: "ACROSS the SEA of MADNESS" I sang and arranged it around 2000-2001 but again it didn't get recorded, then in 2002 I was torn away with caring for my Dad who had Alzheimers. I put it in my songbook, because I may still re-demo it out while recording some of the more substantial songs in my book. It is a rather gloomy, but true topic. Most of the songs I wrote around that time period were definitely like this one, "country tunes" but they were a little more emotional and upbeat than this - but I lot of the keys were in F, Bb, G major key country sounds with a lot of I-IV progression movement (country sounding licks too) However, I do not consider myself a country musician. Love this saying you can't buy time. How true it is. We should all do what we want to do whenever time allows, cause it's fleeting and our loved ones are taken away before we can even buy time for them. I've been through it and know. Sad but true, but this write is all true and not sad. You have such good music flowing in your heart. Never give up and always try harder. You will make it far then.

"You Can't Buy Time" Speaking of which, its time I go camping, but hubby landed a big job...so, I wait! Dagnabbit! :)
Great song! I must hear it around a campfire, one of these days!:)

I've always loved the contemplation of time - taking the concept from a linear to cyclic perspective (and back again). In releasing the confinements of temporal thought, we open ourselves up to the idea that nothing is ever lost to time, only transformed to something else.

I very much enjoyed this, particularly: "And before the day sings its twilight song, a sinking sun casting shadows long, on the corner graveyard stone, a few will stop to think a lot while most will be caught by surprise to find You can�t buy more time..."

Dear Michael,

I can hear Kenny Chesney singing this...he sings alot about hometown themes...also I see the video. Today's songwriters must sing songs very adaptable to video...this one fits well...I can see several props for video in this...casket, funeral, river, headstone, sun going down, flashback to black and white baseball game, dad cheering for his homerun son, fast forward to dad's funeral...it's the game of life, Michael...this is really good material...I hope you record it...register your material with ASCAP...be well...

So true "you can't buy time." The other side of this coin --- make the most of the time you have. Live life as if there were no tomorrow. "You only go around once." Wisdom and strength all through your words.
