Think, think, think -
What was the rush to recklessness?
Now it's a gush of endlessness, and it's
Spill, baby, spill...
Lust, avarice and man's hubris
It's our dead wrong salvation and everything's amiss.
I will not be intimidated by their shrill, clarion call
Drill, baby drill? It's the deadly fruit man's fall -
Now the poisoned apple of that blossom is here
The apple is full of worms, what nobody wants we fear,
IT is kill, baby, kill and its oozing contagion will,
We'll be seeing a lot of it,
In our precious oceans and on our God forsaken beaches.
While the deniers keep denying its fingers in ocean's invisible reaches.
Call me a tree-hugger, call me a flake; at least
I don't live on credit and expect cheap gas for fossil fuel toys.
And I'm not support corporate politicians on the take.
They called us 'weirdo and knucklehead' behind my back,
But when their corporate-corrupted cronies collapsed the economy,
Their fancy-bed pickups and boats were out font & up for SALE,
My boat is in my garage; I paid cash for my Kayak!
The good years have all spun by...
I'm full of regrets - I didn't do it all while I had the chance.
Think, think, think...
You can't turn back the clock on Nature's silent ruin.
They are in denial until that shit is on THEIR beach!
Think, think, think...
I did; I'm against this recklessness since the 70's when
They called me a tree-hugger and an impractical man,
My priorities are straight; live as lightly as you can.
Be for "real" conservatism, conserving Nature as a Friend -
BUT my friend, we are nearing our mother's patient end.
Think, think, think -- before we act,
For us here in Florida, we are ON THE BRINK.

Thoughtful and a dire warning for my dead father's generation. The 'mindless middle' continues with the 'status quo' engineered by the special interests' clever advertising and discover too late that their addiction will take us over the brink and will kill them and their grandchildren.
The Gulf is a terribly sad place, today; yet many are still thinking about the next place to profit from black gold, like Alaska and even my beloved northwood.

"drill baby, drill" is Not a friend to Mother Nature. Those sheeple will keep bleating until they have to drink the stuff. Then, they'll try to blame it on someone else.
From the land of the milked and honeyed here’s a few political faux pas and a bit of attitude exposed to the harsh light of a Canadian who actually has their own opinion.
