Poem Artwork

He looked into
her sad eyes and wondered
how many lies, hurt, deceit, insecurities
and shame they held, for
she was still thanking him
as though he were the very first one
to offer them to her
"They are too beautiful thank yo..." she whispered shyly
With his index finger he titled her head, forcing her to look into his eyes
"No, it is you my dear, you make the roses beautiful"
And with that, a tear escaped the corner of her jade blue eyes and washed away every pain she'd ever known

(Her name was Isobel, she was the black sheep of the family, no one thought anyone could fall in love with her, she wasn't as pretty as her sisters, in short she was grotesque to look at-- so her father and mother and sisters and the whole village thought--but then came the one who was meant for her....lol, one of my romantic(fantasy) story boards)

The eyes of the heart see only the grace of another precious soul who anoints his/her gaze with beauty, and sheds love and light wherever they are present. Such effect outdoes the bounds of nature itself. Wonderful perspective here which causes the reader to feel a shine from the inside out. TY Bernice. Kate xx

This is truly and honestly a write that should be published for it says so much about beauty and love. That line "You make the roses beautiful" is one of the most romantic and endearing one I have read in a very long time Bernice. Round of applause to you for this one for sure.
