like a dangerous criminal
in memory
behind bars of steel
Tossed you away
like a forgotten nightmare
and painted the word 'Vacancy'
over that vein which once belonged to you
between the cushions
of my mind
you tease like hidden candy
that no one should see
but yesterday I heard
you were back in town
disobediently, they've begun to pop out
all those memories
that money can't buy
and time can't seem to erase
they came rushing out
forceful and fast
with the power of
an overflooded dam
like an incorrigible thief
you stole away
the peace of my reality
once again
our worlds collide
and It's showing
all over my face
my arms ache
to hold you
my lips tremble
to form words
to say your sweet name
to kiss you

Great poem about the temptations of "past lives" and the ghosts of loves gone for a reason: They were not only yesterday, they were "wrong" in a lot of ways. But sometimes they still call... Very cool theme almost everyone can relate to... As I've said you're a poet for a large audience
I think that these "temptations" exist with almost anything in life that we don't have complete closure with. I know that until I can really put something to rest in my mind and in my heart... say my goodbye's in essence... I struggle with it over and over again. My temptation in life right now is Haiti... Oh, I need to go back there and say my goodbye's and let go of that half of my heart and life. Sigh... someday...
...to remember one with such conviction...a thief of the heart...breaks in...and gives your poetic passion...all the words returning...to end with a question mark.
