about how I lost a dear friend much too soon.

Poem Artwork

Mister Muffin

A beautiful feline, with fur as white as a virgin snow
With a tiny black spot on his gorgeous head
How was I to know?

That the little kitten left upon my doorstep
Would leave this earth so soon?    He was only
Four Years Old, when the Lord called him home.

Mr. Muffin was a strange cat, as not once
can I remember him ever hiss or growl
He accepted and was accepted, he was unusual
but in a good way somehow.

I don’t know why he left us, he was awfully young
to go.  He didn’t seem sick in any way, but he was a good cat,
I guess the Lord just wanted him back.

Many times people drop off small newborn animals and I had a kitten dropeed off at my home. I took him in and to the vet. He had a few things wrong with him and had I not taken him, the vet said he would have died in a short time. How can people do such a thing to such an innocent little kitten? He lived for 14 years and was very much loved and missed when he died of old age.

That is unusual, but not your poem, it was sweet.

We may own a dog, but not a cat. The master of one, the keeper of the other. Both are a joy. A touching story.

So very sorry for your loss. I've had a few that left me far too soon as well, but they will always remain in my heart, as I know Mr. Muffin will in yours.

Beautiful sentiment throughout every line of this poem. Sad, but he gave you happiness while he was here.
