So abruptly they did leave No waves and no goodbyes You have no idea of how I hurt As tears pool in my eyes You brought them last September Some smiled, some cried, some stared I said that they would be just fine You left them in my care So many head games they did play Didn�t listen to my words Sometimes they wanted blood from me And frazzled all my nerves Their unconditional love for me The affection they displayed Their trusting eyes, my swelling heart Their cute and precious ways Why did you take them like you did? Do they cry for me sometimes? I know they don�t belong to me But during the day they�re mine Was this the plan- is this the norm? You should have let me know I would have planned a special treat Before they had to go I should be used to this by now It�s all been done before I should be used to coming in After you�ve walk them out the door Eventually my face will fade As their memories disappear But I�ll remember the laughing smiles And the time that they spent here I hope one day you�ll bring them back Their faces I�d love to see This time they�ll leave with my goodbyes And a kiss and hug from me � MS 08.07.04
