Sometimes when love dies, the caring still continues. For I believe there will always be a place in ones heart for an old love.

Not This Time!

There was never anything in this life you could ask of me that I would not do,
I’ve written so many love letters to encourage you and help you get through.
But this time you’ve asked too much for those feelings inside have gone & died.
You were not here when my needs were severe and it takes two to be side by side.

So what you have just asked of me is now impossible for me to do.
For if I would try. it would not be real, my feelings wouldn’t be true .
Something that has always come so easy has become impossible for me.
For I can no longer write those love letters as they once used to be.

I love you however; I’m not in love with you but the caring still remains.
So I can only offer you friendship even though it’s not the same.
I will always love and care for you and keep you in my heart,
For we had something precious, and it deserves a special part.

So please try and understand, I cannot do as you have asked.
I can’t denigrate what we had, by doing this impossible task.
Just know I care for you deeply and you will be in my prayers.
And if there’s something else I can do, you know I will be there.

An interesting write and yes I agree if you really love someone, even when the passion completely fizzles out...the love is still held and will never entirely go away. I am not sure what he asks of you but you can only offer what you have to give.

Bonnie,

Hopefully, this is fictional: you can only do so much, you know? Powerfully penned and expressed. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
